Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Program

What makes PathPoint Health different from other programs?

We take a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that extends beyond weight loss. Our metabolic health program addresses the medical, nutritional and behavioral factors of your overall health—so you get lasting results, not quick fixes.

Is this just a weight loss program?

No. While weight management is often a goal, we focus on improving your overall metabolic health. That includes conditions like insulin resistance, prediabetes or diabetes, and other chronic issues related to metabolism.

What does “evidence-based” care mean?

It means we use proven medical guidelines and clinical research to guide our treatment—no fad diets or gimmicks.

How long does the program last?

Your care plan is personalized. We’ll design a timeline that fits your needs and goals during your initial consultation.

Can I do this program virtually?

Yes! We offer both in-person and virtual appointments to fit your schedule and comfort level.

Do you help people who have diabetes, thyroid conditions or other health issues?

Absolutely. Our team is experienced in managing a wide range of metabolic and chronic health conditions alongside weight and lifestyle support.

Your Care Team

Who will I be working with?

You’ll be supported by an advanced practice provider (APP), who may refer you as needed to other members of our team including a registered dietitian (RD), and/or licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). This interdisciplinary team works together to guide your journey and provide the support you need to reach your metabolic health goals.

Costs & Insurance

What will insurance cover?

Where we have in-network status, we will bill clinical visits through your insurance plan. Depending on your plan, you may have out-of-pocket costs like copays, deductibles or coinsurance. We’ll verify your benefits and review them with you before you begin.

How much does the program cost?

Costs will vary depending on the care plan recommended by your provider during your initial consultation and would include the relevant copays, deductibles, coinsurance, or self-pay rate for each visit.

Can I use an HSA or FSA?

Yes! Many patients use HSA/FSA funds to cover our services.

Getting Started

How do I schedule my first visit?

You can call us, email us or visit here to get started. We’ll help you find a time that works best for you.

What happens during the initial consultation?

You’ll meet with one of our specialized advanced practice providers (APPs) to review your health history, goals and any existing conditions. This helps us create a personalized care plan that works for you.

Where are you located?

We have three locations in Middle Tennessee with more coming soon. PathPoint Health Nashville is located in the heart of Midtown, PathPoint Health Murfreesboro is located off Medical Center Parkway, and PathPoint Health Clarksville is located in the Saint Bethlehem area off Ted Crozier Sr. Blvd.

Program Expectations

Will I be prescribed medications?

If appropriate, your provider may discuss medication options, including FDA-approved treatments for weight and metabolic conditions. This could include GLP-1 medications like Wegovy® or Zepbound® (or Ozempic® or Mounjaro® if you have Type 2 diabetes), depending on your medical needs and insurance coverage.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Every person’s journey is different. Our goal is not just weight loss—but lasting improvements in your overall health, energy and metabolic function.

What happens after the program ends?

We’ll discuss long-term planning and support as you progress to ensure you maintain the improvements you’ve achieved.

I’ve tried everything. What if this doesn’t work for me?

We understand how frustrating that can be. That’s why we focus on uncovering the root causes of metabolic dysfunction and providing consistent, multidisciplinary support. You don’t have to go through it alone. We’re here to support your journey to better health—step by step.
