The most common pillars of metabolic dysfunction are poor diet, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, and stress—and we saw the need for evidence-based, integrated care that addresses all these aspects of life.

Grant Rutledge
Founder & CEO
Grant is passionate about driving growth and impact. Most recently, Grant led the strategy and growth of a multi-health system as the Chief Development Officer for the TriStar Division of HCA Healthcare.
Susan Mehta
Co-Founder & VP of Clinical Operations
As an RN, Susan is passionate about helping people improve their health and well-being. She most recently served as the Corporate AVP for Bariatric and Weight Management Services at HCA Healthcare.
Sterling Wardwell
CFO
Sterling serves as Chief Financial Officer, where he leads financial strategy and growth initiatives. He most recently served as VP of M&A and Strategic Finance at OneOncology, and previously held roles at Flatiron and Huron Healthcare.
Amanda Joseph
SVP, Operations
Amanda specializes in business strategy and platform growth. Most recently, she drove the expansion of HCA Healthcare’s Urgent Care Service Line through acquisition and development of new clinics across the country.
Deseree “Dez” Prentice, DO
Middle tennessee Medical director
Dr. Prentice comes to us from Ascension Saint Thomas and is double board certified in family medicine and obesity medicine. As medical director, she leads clinical program development and outcomes measurement.
Salma Makhoul Ahwach, MD
north Florida medical director
Dr. Makhoul-Ahwach comes to us from Ascension St. Vincent’s and is double board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology. She brings more than 20 years’ experience and a clinical focus on insulin resistance and glycemic control that drive metabolic disease.
DeAnn Hunnicutt
middle tennessee area practice manager
DeAnn brings more than 20 years of healthcare operations experience building medical practices from the ground up, including opening seven clinics in under a year. She most recently served as Practice Administrator at Pediatric Associates.
Tami Dees
North Florida area practice manager
Tami brings more than 20 years of experience leading bariatric surgery and weight loss programs. She most recently served as Director of Weight Loss Services at Ascension St. Vincent’s, where she oversaw bariatric operations and accreditation.
Jennifer Hester
middle tennessee provider relationship manager
Jennifer brings 17 years of experience in diabetes care and provider relations, starting as a diabetes sales representative at Sanofi, where she helped launch Lantus. Since joining PathPoint Health in 2025, she has built referral partnerships with practices across Middle Tennessee.
Michelle McCormick
North florida provider relationship manager
Michelle brings more than 15 years of experience in healthcare communications and community engagement across North Florida. She most recently led provider engagement at Millennium Physician Group.
